At current for two-wheelers, it is 50 and the new revises registration fee will be Rs 1,000 and the renewal charges will be Rs 2,000. For the cabs, it is Rs 1,000 at present and the revised fee is 10,000 and renewal charges will be Rs 20,000.

For registrations-three-wheelers from 300 to 5,000 increase. For LMV personal (car/jeep) from 600 to 5,000, LMV (commercial) from 1,000 to 10,000. From medium and heavy goods and passenger vehicle 1,500 to 20,000.
The draft notification proposes to hike the registration fee of imported vehicles from Rs 5,000 to Rs 40,000.

For renewal for three-wheelers from 300 to 10,000 and For LMV (Commercial) 1,000 to 20,000. The medium and heavy goods and passenger vehicles from 1,500 to 40,000.

For imported motorcycles, the registration fee will be Rs 20,000 against the current Rs 2,500. “We have sought feedback from all stakeholders before notifying the final fee structure in the next 40-45 days,” an official said.

However, As per the notification issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway a draft proposal were made to wave off the registrations fee on electric vehicles.
“The proposal of a steep increase in the renewal fee for commercial vehicles, particularly trucks, buses and other heavy vehicles by nearly 27 times is aimed at making people opt for scrapping them once they are over 15 years old, said a government official.
Increase in fitness tests fee
Another proposal also made for the frequent fitness tests of commercial petrol and diesel vehicles and more than 15 years old vehicles would have to be tested twice in a year. The vehicles owners must also pay some extra charges for the fitness tests for both manual and automated tests.
As per the draft proposal, if the owner of the vehicle which is more than 15 years old fails to get fresh fitness certificated before it expires, they will be charged additional fee of Rs 50 each day.
Instead of paying so much for vehicle’s renewals and registrations fee, it is better to opt for electric vehicles, it not only saves your money but also helps in reducing the pollution from the country.
