Tender’s requirement was of 130 km

The tender’s requirement was of 130 km. As per ARAI test, Tigor EV certified for a range of 142 km. However, the range of vehicles differs from person to person which can depend on their driving habits, road and traffic conditions.

Tata Motors spokesperson said

A Tata Motors spokesperson said, “The range of the vehicle varies from individual to individual and depends on the driving habits, road and traffic conditions.”

The Tata Motors and M&M were asked to increase the battery strength to opt at least a range of 120 km in normal road and traffic conditions.

Both the automakers have supplied around 1,500 vehicles to Energy Efficiency Services (EESL) and another 1,000 units are expected in the next few months.

EESL MD Saurabh Kumar said

EESL MD Saurabh Kumar said only a few officials had complained. “Obviously, the range will be better under standard test conditions than normal road conditions. This is also true for cars with internal combustion engines. The range has a lot to do with the driving behavior and traffic conditions,” Kumar

Kumar said that if the automakers asked to fit the batteries according to the global standards then the cost of the vehicle will also rise. however both the companies are given more time to supply the remaining units.

According to Kumar, the focus has shifted from EVs to installing more charging stations. which will eventually create the demand for EVs.

EESL is aiming to increase to 200 public charging stations

Currently, New Delhi has 30 public charging stations and EESL is aiming to increase to 200 very soon.
