2025 Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Launched in India: A Retro-Futuristic Ride

Bajaj Auto has unveiled the highly anticipated 2025 Bajaj Chetak electric scooter in India, marking a significant milestone in the country’s electric vehicle landscape. The scooter, priced at Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant, offers a compelling blend of classic design and modern technology.

The 2025 Chetak 35 series, as it’s officially called, boasts a retro-inspired design that pays homage to the iconic Chetak scooter of the past.2 However, it’s been infused with contemporary elements to create a futuristic appeal. The scooter’s sleek lines, chrome accents, and LED lighting give it a distinctive look that’s sure to turn heads.

Under the hood, the Chetak 35 series packs a powerful electric motor and a 3.5 kWh battery pack. This combination enables the scooter to achieve a top speed of 73 km/h and a claimed range of 153 km on a single charge. The battery can be charged to 80% in just 3 hours, making it convenient for daily commutes.

The scooter also comes equipped with a range of advanced features, including a TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, a reverse mode, and multiple riding modes. The TFT display provides essential information like speed, battery level, and range, while the smartphone connectivity allows riders to access navigation, music control, and other features.

Safety is paramount, and the Chetak 35 series doesn’t disappoint. It features disc brakes on both wheels, along with regenerative braking, which helps to extend the range.6 The scooter also comes with a host of safety features like anti-theft alarm, geo-fencing, and speed alert.

The 2025 Bajaj Chetak is available in three variants: 3501, 3502, and 3503. The base variant, 3502, is priced at Rs 1.20 lakh, while the top-spec 3501 variant is priced at Rs 1.27 lakh. Deliveries for the 3501 variant are expected to commence later this month, while for the 3502, they will commence from January 2025.

With its stylish design, impressive performance, and advanced features, the 2025 Bajaj Chetak is poised to make a significant impact on the Indian electric scooter market. It offers a compelling alternative to petrol-powered scooters, providing a sustainable and eco-friendly option for urban commuters.
