With Nepal’s Vaidya Energy, Ather enters its first international market

In exchange for this partnership, Ather Grids will set up fast-charging stations

With the export of Ather Energy’s flagship model, the 450X, to Nepal in the near future, Ather Energy is planning to enter the international market. As part of the launch of its first global presence in Nepal, Ather plans to establish a relationship with Vaidya Energy, a subsidiary of the Vaidya Organization of Industries and Commerce (VOITH), one of Nepal’s top industrial conglomerates, with the opening of a new experience center in Kathmandu this November.

In order to greatly improve access to high-performance electric vehicles for Nepali consumers in the near future, Ather Energy and Vaidya Energy have formed a partnership that will reshape the electric two-wheeler market in Nepal. As a result of the agreement between the association and Vaidya Energy, Ather products will be sold as well as serviced in Nepal by Vaidya Energy. Undoubtedly, this expansion will also positively impact the growth of the Indian auto OEM business.

According to the Chief Business Officer of Ather, Ravneet Phokela, they are very excited to expand their business footprint into international markets as their electric scooter sales continue to grow domestically. Nepal is the first step in the company’s international expansion process as they have experienced tremendous inbound demand from multiple markets. The Nepalese automobile market can be viewed as a microcosm of the global shift towards cleaner forms of mobility. The roll-out of their public fast-charging infrastructure has proven to be an important differentiator for them in India, in keeping with their ecosystem approach to market creation. Having entered the Nepal market through Vaidya Group, the company is pleased to partner with them. Their extensive experience and established expertise in the automotive retail sector will complement the company’s efforts in creating an exceptional experience for Ather’s fans and customers.
