Bookings for the Orxa Mantis are now open
An electric vehicle startup based in Bangalore, Orxa Energies, has launched its first motorcycle, the Mantis, for a price of Rs 3.60 lakh. A two-wheeled version of the Mantis has been in development since 2017 after over six years of development. The company has opened the booking process today, immediately following the launch yesterday.

Mantis chassis and design by Orxa
Featuring split seats, a tank that is sculpted, and a short rear section, the Mantis has an angular appearance. A distinctive DRL and twin headlights are visible at the front of the vehicle. There is a 320mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear, and all-LED lighting throughout the bike. Other features include 41mm telescopic forks at the front, 17-inch alloy wheels, a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear, and a 320mm disc at the front, and a 230mm disc at the rear.
The wheelbase of the Orxa Mantis is 1450mm, and the seat height is 815mm. Thanks to the lighter battery pack, a structural part of the motorcycle, the motorcycle is the lightest in the segment, weighing 182kg. The frames themselves have been revised in comparison to IBW 2022, and an aluminum subframe has been used. There is also 180mm of ground clearance on this vehicle.
Powertrain: Orxa Mantis
With a battery capacity of 8.9Kwh, the Orxa Mantis is powered by a liquid-cooled BLDC motor producing 27bhp and 93Nm. It can reach speeds of 135kmph in 8.9 seconds and can run 0-100kmph in 8.9 seconds. According to IDC, the range is 221 kilometers. There will be a ride-by-wire system on the Mantis. Battery packs can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 2.5 hours using a 3.3 kW fast charger.
Here’s what Orxa Mantis has to offer
In addition to an integrated TFT 5-inch dashboard, the Orxa Mantis is powered by the Orxa operating system, which is based on Linux. Additionally, it offers Bluetooth functionality and smartphone compatibility as well as a side-stand sensor. A smartphone app called Mantis can be used to provide navigation, smartphone notifications, and ride analytics when connected to the motorcycle.
How much does Orxa Mantis cost
As part of its Mantis electric vehicle launch, Orxa Energies is offering the 1.3kWh variant of the model for Rs 3.60 lakh. It has not yet been determined what the price will be for the fast charger variant. For a nominal fee of Rs 10,000, pre-orders are now being taken, with deliveries scheduled to begin in Bengaluru in April 2024, followed by other cities. According to Orxa, the service partners will be announced shortly.
