Tata’s first electric SUV Sierra Concept

This is surely the year’s unexpected electric SUV. The largest Indian conglomerate and the automotive manufacturer decided to unveil its new Sierra EV concept. The futuristic midsize SUV was debuted at the Auto Expo 2020 in India.

The Sierra EV concept will use the Tata’s Alfa ARC platform which the manufacturer claims to have lightweight, modular and flexible. It is said to be a modern and youthful vehicle within a short development cycle. Using multiple powertrains Tata will churn out internal combustion hybrid and electric vehicles with the help of this new platform.

However, there were no details of specifications were provided, the Sierra EV has sliding doors, slim LED lights at front and back and 360-degree movable seats with dash infotainment layout and interiors.

The sierra EV concept looks more stylish and stunning. This electric SUV will well fit into the brand’s profile and it will be the entry of the company in India’s electric SUV segment.

The powertrain will be much bigger than the company’s recent launch Nexon EV. It is expected with more than 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and more powerful motor around 150-200 bhp. Its range can be expected to have around 400 km plus on the single charge.

Tata Motors has also unveiled its first-ever commercial electric truck, Ultra T.7 Electric at Auto Expo 2020. It is the latest product from the company in the ILCV (intermediate and light commercial vehicle) segment under the world-class vehicle range of Ultra Platform.
