
Tamil Nadu CM flagged off women powered 13 types of solar electric autos
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami flagged off 13 types of solar and electric powered autos which will be operated by women as part of the women empowerment and environmental protection.
This project is the result of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s efforts on fetching investments to Tamil Nadu and to create job opportunities for youth. CM Palaniswami signed a memorandum of understanding with M Auto at Dubai and offered his governments support by providing charging stations, manufacturing units and other things.
13 types of solar electric autos project launch
The project holds the investment of about ₹100 crores which creates employment opportunities to 5,000 employees. The autos are manufactured by M Auto Electric Mobility which is equipped with GPS, CCTV cameras, panic button and tabs and can be used for various purposes. Its drivers will be mostly women.
The launch event was participated by Deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam, Industries minister M C Sampath, senior ministers, officials, M Auto Electric Mobility chairman Mansoor Ali Khan and the company’s managing director Yasmeen Jawahar.
Apart from this, the CM trip to UK and US, he signed MoUs with 41 companies with an investment of ₹8,835 crores totally which creates new jobs for over 35,520 persons.
During the global lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Mauto Electric has come up with some unique idea, Business on wheels, the electric carts designed by the company will directly go to the residents and purchase vegetables. On purchase of vegetables, Mauto provided free medicines, masks and drinking water. This mobile electric vehicle vegetable shop exclusively operated by women, also equipped with a swiping machine for the convenience of customers.
Apart from business, Mauto has also provided electric auto services to pregnant women in Tamil Nadu. Around 68 pregnant women are benefited from M auto electric auto-rickshaw service. From another program called Food on wheels, the company has distributed food for Homeless people along with the eco-green foundation.
The startup also supplied essential supplies for their auto driver families as auto driver families depend on their daily rides. For all these services, they are using electric auto-rickshaws to reduce pollution levels. These electric autos can give 100 km of range on a single charge which has a top speed of 60 km/h.
