Skoda has partnered with IBG Cesko a Czech-based technology company that will develop the system. The power hubs will provide energy to power the showrooms, workshop buildings and the charging infrastructure for customer cars.

The company has also completed its pilot project successfully in Prague. The company has also received 160 pre-orders for the power hubs from its dealers in Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands and Slovakia.

The power hubs can hold up to 20 batteries from various Skoda plug-in hybrid models (Superb iV and Octavia iV) or five batteries from its fully electric Enyaq iV. That will help the system to store a total capacity of 328 kWh which can be used to fast-charge customer vehicles by up to 150 kW. Skoda estimates that the system potentially extends the useful life of the batteries by up to 15 years.

Last year, the Skoda had unveiled its first electric SUV Enyaq iV that provides a range of 510 km. This electric SUV is inspired by the Vision iV concept. It comes with three different battery sizes which have a quick charging option. It will be available in five versions and the deliveries will commence from next year. The Enyaq iV SUV is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular platform.

The Enyaq iV SUV can accelerate 0-100 kmph in just 6.2 seconds and gives a range of 510 km.  It comes with a set of three battery packs. The 55kWh battery provides 340km of driving range, the 62kWh battery offers 390km of driving range and the 82kWh battery provides 510km of driving range. The price of the Enyaq iV electric SUV can be expected around 34000 Euros, approximately Rs 28.29 lakh.
