Pure EV launches new electric scooter at ₹56,999
An electric vehicle start-up, Pure EV incubated by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has launched its new electric scooter ‘ETrance+’ which is priced at Rs 56,999 (ex-showroom). It is equipped with a 1.25 kWh portable battery which provides a range of 65 kilometres. Let us see more about Pure EV launches new electric scooter.
The Pure EV previously had launched four electric scooters EPluto 7G, Epluto, Etrance and Etron+. The company plans to expand its manufacturing base to a larger facility that can produce 2 lakh EVs annually. It is also planning to set up a new 2 lakh sq ft plant in 2021 to increase the growth of EVs and lithium batteries.

The company has an in-house battery manufacturing facility that manufactures high-performance lithium-ion batteries. It also has a research set-up dedicated to R&D which is based out of IIT Hyderabad Campus. The R&D team is focused on the battery thermal management system for the development of the long-range and high-performance lithium batteries.

Rohit Vadera, Chief Executive Officer of PuREnergy, said, “In this Covid-19 pandemic scenario, trust on personal mobility has increased significantly and people are looking for electric scooters at affordable prices. ETrance+ comes with a robust chassis design, body parts built for Indian road conditions and advanced features like regenerative braking, eABS and a SOC indicator shows the percentage of battery capacity remaining. This model will meet the requirements of the customers looking to buy EVs for their daily short commutes.”
Nishanth Dongari, Founder, PURE EV and Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, IIT-Hyderabad said that “The launch of ETrance+ is another important milestone for the company and demonstrates our ability on cost innovation even while meeting all the key expectations of the customers. Such innovations are becoming feasible even under the pandemic due to our in-house battery technology and the R&D in improving the efficiency of a power train.”
He also said that the company is in a process to get the high-speed variants by the end of 2020. It will be launched with an ex-showroom price of Rs 69,999 with an amazing range of 90 km which will have a top speed of 55 kmph.
