NMRC is all set to launch rental electric bikes by next month
As we all know more than half of the people have not switched to electric vehicles which is one of the most eco-friendly modes of transportation. But in Delhi e-bikes are getting famous in NCR following that Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is also set to launch rental electric bikes next month.
In September, the DMRC rolled out electric bike renting services which aim to reduce the pollution and as well as the last mile connectivity.
An official from DMRC said that “We have collaborated with a couple of agencies to provide battery-operated bikes on rent at Metro stations which will ensure last-mile connectivity for commuters. The first such service was started in September this year. Currently, the services are available at 17 metro stations in Delhi and are being used every day by the hundreds of commuters.”
Rental electric bikes
Following the same, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is also set to launch electric bikes by next month in Noida. The e-bike renting docks have been installed at three metro stations such as Sector 50, 51 and Sector 76 and more will be installed very soon.
We are just waiting to collaborate with the Noida Authority, who installs the bike docks for people to park their bikes. This will be also available at the residential societies and offices across Noida as well.GPS will also be installed in the e-bike to keep it safe from theft says PD Upadhyay, Executive Director, NMRC.
In Gurgaon, these electric bikes are available at Huda City Centre Metro Station and the bus stops in Udyog Vihar, Sohna Road Cyber City and Golf Course Road.
The Mobycy founder, Akash Gupta said that they have over 1000 electric bikes operating across Gurgaon and we register a ridership of over 1 lakh each month. They will also be available in Delhi Metro Stations from December 10. In Delhi, the company will be providing the e-bikes in Malviya Nagar, Saket and Hauz Khas Metro Stations.
In September, the DMRC collaborated with Yulu and launched the services from Mandi House Metro Stations and it started in 17 metro stations. A total of 10,000 rides have been made by the Delhiites since the service was first launched in September.
DMRC also collaborated with another e-bike services, qQuick Starting from Mandi House Metro Station, the service is now available at 4 stations such as Vishwavidyalaya, Dwarka Sector 9 and Nehru Enclave.
