MG Launches Comet Blackstorm Edition at ₹7.80 Lakh with Unique Styling
MG Motor India has unveiled the Comet Blackstorm Edition, a bold new iteration of its compact electric vehicle. Priced at ₹7.80 lakh (ex-showroom), the latest edition introduces a striking ‘Starry Night‘ black exterior with red accents, elevating the vehicle’s sporty appeal. However, in a unique pricing structure, the battery rental plan costs ₹2.5 per km, giving potential buyers an alternative ownership model.
Exclusive Blackstorm Enhancements
Based on the Exclusive trim, the Blackstorm Edition receives aesthetic upgrades, including a darkened MG badge at the rear and black leatherette upholstery with red ‘Blackstorm’ embroidery on the inside. It also boasts a four-speaker sound system, enhancing the in-cabin experience.
No Mechanical Changes
Mechanically, the Comet Blackstorm Edition remains unchanged. It continues to feature a 17.3 kWh battery pack, paired with a 42 HP electric motor, offering a claimed range of 230 km (MIDC cycle). Charging and performance figures remain identical to the standard model.
Booking and Availability
MG has opened bookings for the Comet Blackstorm Edition at a token amount of ₹11,000, making it accessible for early adopters of the uniquely styled EV.
