May 23rd will see the official launch of E2W Simple One

Aside from offering the longest range, Simple ONE eliminates range anxiety by offering a battery pack that meets safety standards.

electric vehicle and clean energy start-up Simple Energy announced Wednesday that it will launch the Simple ONE battery-powered two-wheeler in Bengaluru on May 23, 2023. It is not only designed to be a premium electric vehicle, but it will also be one that is affordable as well.

This scooter comes with a battery that meets safety standards, making it the only scooter with the safest battery in its segment. It will be one of the few F.2Ws with the longest range. This reduces range anxiety for the customer since it is one of the few F.2Ws that boasts the longest range.

Suhas Rajkumar, Founder, and CEO of Simple Energy, said in announcing the launch date: That’s why we’ve spent the last two years testing our products extensively in the toughest conditions to ensure the results are still the most impressive in the business.”

According to Suhas Rajkumar, with the official confirmation of the Simple ONE launch, they are also proud to announce that they are the first OEM to meet Automotive Industry Standard (AIS) 156 Amendment 3. In addition to being faster, the Simple ONE has improved looks, the battery system, the powertrain, and safety features. As a result, he stated that they handled the issues well during their testing. Based on what he said, he is confident the product will last a long time.

There is a strong commitment on the part of the Simple Energy team to play a major role in facilitating the continuing transition to global mobility. This is in the coming years. As a result, more products are under development and an increased focus is placed on research and development than ever before. This is necessary to achieve it.

Simple E2W Design

Simple One is a futuristic design package. There are sharp edges and sharp lines all over the body. The front is V-shaped and features powerful LED headlights with LED DRL bars. Similarly, the sculpted front turn signal design, gloss black alloy wheels, large cab, and confident driving stance give the side profile a strong look. The overall outlook is more suitable for younger performance-seeking buyers. However, it also provides useful design cues, such as passenger handrails and a large footboard area for carrying luggage.

Features

Simple One will be loved by tech-savvy audiences. It features a large 7-inch touchscreen instrument panel. This console supports multiple OTA updates and gets features like Google Maps, Geofencing, TPMS, Vehicle Tracking System, and a virtual wallet to upload the required documents. Overall, LED lights help you look more aggressive on the road and provide better lighting. It also has replaceable batteries, fast-charging options, and 30 liters of massive under-seat storage.

Specification

The hardware used is also well-categorized. The front end is equipped with telescopic suspension and 200mm blade disc brakes. Equipped with 12-inch aluminum wheels at both ends. The front tire profile is 100/80/12 and the rear tire profile is 110/80-12. Makes it look chunky and sporty. In addition, the rear adopts monoshock suspension, and the rear brake is also a 190mm leaf disc. Both brakes are coupled via CBS. Additionally, Simple incorporates regenerative braking at both brake ends. The minimum ground clearance is 160mm, and the seat height is low at 775mm. The vehicle’s weight is 110kg.

Battery, Performance, Range

As the most recent AIS standards apply to electric vehicles, you will receive a 4.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack that is also AIS compliant. This battery pack produces a peak torque of 72 Nm via an 8.5 kW motor. Thanks to its large battery, the Simple One can reach 236 km on a full charge. However, the tested range is in the ECO mode, and that too is in a controlled environment. So the actual distance in the city is 203 km. It is still the e-scooter with the longest range in its segment. The time between 0-40km/h is also 2.95 seconds. It also has a claimed top speed of 105 km/h, matching competitors such as the Ola S1 Pro and Ather 450X Gen 3. Speaking of batteries, the 7kg battery is replaceable. What’s more, fast charging allows you to charge from 0 to 80% in just 2.75 hours.

Price and details

Simple Energy already had reservations for the Simple One when it was announced two years ago. The introductory price was 1.1 million rupees (ex-showroom). However, the introduction of stricter battery standards has led to repeated delays in market launch. It will be released on May 23rd. We assume that new AIS-enabled batteries may cause prices to go up. Simple may introduce updated features and color options at launch.
