Mahindra XUV300 India’s upcoming electric car
Mahindra XUV300 electric car is from a leading and pioneer automaker Mahindra Electric. It is developing an all-electric version of its conventional XUV300 car. It was also showcased in the Auto Expo and its other electric cars were also showcased. It had attracted a lot of people during its unveil and it is the most awaited electric vehicle in India. It is expected to be launching in India at the end of this year or early 2022. Once it is launched it is said to be the most affordable electric car in India.

Mahindra’s electric vehicles will be affordable that can be easily purchased by the people. The company is focusing mostly on developing passenger electric cars in India. MESMA platform
The XUV300 electric will be based on the MESMA (Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture) platform. Mahindra XUV300 electric appearance is the same as XUV300 but its technical terms will be different from the conventional one.
Features
If you look at its front part of the car we can expect a closed grille and its headlight is reworked completely, the ORVMs is replaced by cameras when it is showcased in Expo. The cameras will be definitely included but ORVMs can also be expected. However, the final product may vary.
The XUV300 electric will have new alloy wheels. It may also get some blue accents all over the car to give that feeling of an electric car. It may also get a new touchscreen and some smart features. It will get a new closed-off grille, special LED headlights with blue graphics, new bumpers, wireless charger, new steering, etc. It will have a regenerative braking system and its other features include dual-zone climate control, sunroof, etc. The eXUV300 will support both AC and as well as DC fast-charging.
Specifications
Mahindra XUV300 electric is expected to come in two variants one with a lower range and one with a higher range. The lower variant may provide a range of around 350km and a higher range might offer around 400 km. It is likely to get around 130hp electric motor and a 40kWh battery pack.
A first electric vehicle with battery cells by LG Chem especially for India
It will be the first electric vehicle with battery cells which has been developed specially for India by LG Chem, a Korean battery manufacturer. Both companies have partnered to have advanced lithium-ion battery technology.
Price & FAME 2 subsidy
At current Mahindra’s XUV300 electric conventional is priced at Rs 8.10-12.69 lakh (ex-showroom, India). So we can expect the price of the eXUV300 to be priced around Rs 15 to Rs 18 lakh. It is likely to not get any subsidies from the Indian government’s FAME 2 (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric vehicles).
Rivals
Once the eXUV300 EV is launched it will compete with the most expensive Hyundai Kona Electric, MG ZS EV and the Tata Nexon EV which are currently available in the Indian market.
