Trial Launched By Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu
In 2018 India Auto Expo in New Delhi it was showcased. The trial was launched by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the midst of South Korean Ambassador to India Shin Bongkil.

Kia Motors ranks on the eight positions as the largest automobile manufacturer is expecting its first car on roads of Anantapuram plant in the second half of this year.
CEO Han-Woo Park said, “Commencing trial production is a significant moment that we have been preparing for as we take on the challenges of future mobility across India.”
“India Will play an important role in expanding Kia Motors’ global footprint and this is the start of another chapter of our success story in India.”
Kookhyun Shim said, “This partnership reinforces the commitment of Kia to supporting the government in promoting the uptake of electric vehicles and developing a local electric vehicle charging infrastructure.”
Chief Minister of AP received a model of new Kia Soul electric vehicle from Kia Motors, as the future mobility partneship with AP Government.
Kia Motors said that the new plant includes the advanced robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and cutting-edge manufacturing processes. The plant holds the capacity of upto 3 lakh units and spreads over 536 acres.
The SP2i’s will launch around the festive season in India with the cost of around INR 10-15 lakhs with other top variations around INR 18 Lakh.
