The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) has deployed 9 electric vehicles for its employees to travel within the port area. This initiative comes as a part of a major push under the green port initiatives to achieve the sustainability goals.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) is India’s premier container handling port that has been working towards sustainable solutions since it has established its operations. The deployment of electric vehicles in its fleet is another greener effort by the port.
Electric vehicles emit less carbon therefore fewer carbon footprints that will enable JNPT to transition to green and energy-efficient mobility solutions. The JNPT has also installed a dedicated charging station for the electric vehicles to be get charged.

Tata Steel deploys electric vehicles for transportation of finished steel in India
Recently in a sustainable initiative the Tata Steel, the world’s leading steelmaking company has partnered with an Indian start-up company to pursue its aspiration of deploying electric vehicles for transporting steel as part of its sustainability initiative. It is the first steel company to deploy electric vehicles by a steelmaker in India for the transportation of finished steel.
