Jawa Moto is developing an electric motorcycle for the Indian market. The company’s first two products are Jawa and Jawa 42 were success products in the Indian market. Now the company is working on a new motorcycle that will be electric.
The Classic Legends is working on developing the bike independently but not with its parent company, Mahindra & Mahindra. But there may be some tech that the companies will share. Mahindra is well experienced in the EV industry it has electric cars and electric scooter. At present eVerito is available in the country.
The company has also a Formula-E team and an electric supercar Automobili Pininfarina from an Italian acquisition. The electric vehicles are the future of the automobile industry and already many manufacturers have added EVs to their vehicle portfolio.
In India, at current we have MG ZS EV and Tata Nexon EV which launched recently. Electric two-wheelers and electric three-wheelers are also included and there are many such electric vehicles which are lined up to launch in the Indian market.
Recently, the Mahindra has set a target of selling 10,000 electric three-wheelers each month and is in talks with the state governments and to sell it as private entities to promote the sales of eco-friendly vehicles said by the people aware of the plans.
The Mahindra Atom Quadricycle India will launch has been delayed in India due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the testing, validation and supply of components needed for the electric vehicles have been affected so there will be some delays in the electric vehicle launch said the Automotive Division Mahindra CEO, Veejay Ram Nakra.
Let us wait for the launch of the Jawa electric motorcycle and how much percentage it is localised. Like the company’s two other models the electric will also hit the Indian EV market.
