IIT-Hyderabad Start-up Launches Electric Two-Wheelers

IIT-Hyderabad Start-up

IIT-Hyderabad Start-up, An Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H) incubated start-up PuREenrgy has developed the pure Electric Two-wheeler which gives high performance and range and will launch in the financial year.

IIT-Hyderabad Start-up Launches Electric Two-Wheelers

The Electric Two-wheeler by the start-up is specifically made to suit the Indian conditions. The EV is all set to launch commercially all over India.

IIT-Hyderabad Start-up will Launch 10,000 EVs by 2019-20

The company will launch the 10,000 EVs in four models-Egnite, Etrance, EPluto and ETron. It is aiming to complete its EVs targets by 2019-20.

Company Has Set 18,000-sq.ft. the state-of-the-art facility

It has set an 18,000-sq.ft. the state-of-the-art facility, co-located with the IIT-H for performing Research and Development and for production of large scale EVs and electric batteries.

Electric Two-Wheelers-Less Weight

The electric two-wheelers have less weight and designed to work under the tough conditions, it will give high discharge currents for better and speed performance.

IIT-Hyderabad Start-up Founder of PuREenrgy, Nishanth Dongari Says,

The founder of PuREenrgy, Nishanth Dongari and EV Assistant professor, department of mechanical and aerospace engineering, IIT-H said,

“We have developed strong capabilities in the lithium battery packs assembly, active balancing management systems and rigorous testing standards for deployment in our electric two-wheelers.”

The EV has gone through many tests and deployed the test samples all over India since one year to various distributors, corporate companies and professional test riders.

The startup is also looking out for partners to develop strong network channels among the dealers and the consumers.

NITI Aayog Member and IIT-H Director Visited Facility

On April 28th, the NITI Aayog member V.K. Saraswat and IIT-H director Prof U.B. Desai visited the facility and had a conversation with the company founders.

Startup Founders

Startup Founders Nishanth Dongari, assistant professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, IIT-H said,

“The company has extended collaboration with other EV startups to develop and supply high voltage lithium batteries for three and four-wheeler applications,”

Dedicated research fellows are working on solving problems associated with active cooling, in-depth electro-chemistry-thermal analysis and eventually making the entire battery unit compatible for high-speed EV applications.”
