Hyundai launches new EV brand IONIQ, To launch 3 new electric cars
Hyundai Motor Co will sell its electric vehicles under a brand Ioniq as part of its initiative to become the world’s third-largest seller of EVs by 2025.
The Ioniq brand will launch three new electric cars by the next four years i.e, 2025 on its new Hyundai Ioniq EV platform. In early 2021 it will launch the Ioniq 5 midsize electric SUV which is based on the 45 concept. The Ioniq 6 sedan based on Prophecy concept will be introduced in 2022 and the Ioniq 7 will be launched in 2024.

The International Motor Show 2019 held in Frankfurt has showcased the Hyundai EV 45 concept and it is the first concept car for the new brand. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 was showcased in 2020. The automaker by 2025 wants to build 10% of the market share in the global EV market which aims to have million battery electric vehicles on road. It aims to have 560,000 BEV and FCEV sales by 2025 and becoming the world’s largest electric vehicles automaker.
Wonhong Cho, executive vice president and global chief marketing officer at Hyundai Motor Company, said that The IONIQ brand will change the paradigm of EV customer experience. With a new emphasis on connected living, we will offer electrified experiences integral to an eco-friendly lifestyle. The new brand is going to use Hyundai’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which they claims will enable “fast charging capability and plentiful driving range.”
‘Wonder warranty’ scheme on Kona Electric SUV
Recently, the Hyundai has made an announcement that it will provide, ‘Wonder warranty’ scheme on its Kona Electric SUV for the existing customers. The company says that the customers of the Hyundai Kona can now choose from three warranty options without paying anything extra. It is providing three warranty options which include 3 years/Unlimited km, 4 Year/60,000 Km and 5 Year/50,000 Km. Now you can choose anyone from these options.
