Hyundai Creta EV: Electrifying the Indian Market

At the grand stage of Auto Expo 2025, Hyundai Motor India unveiled the much-anticipated Creta EV, marking a significant stride in the Indian electric vehicle landscape. This all-electric iteration of the popular SUV is poised to captivate the market with its blend of style, technology, and affordability.

Pricing and Variants:

The Creta EV is offered in four distinct trims – Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence – catering to a diverse range of consumer preferences. Prices start at an attractive Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the entry-level Executive variant, making electric mobility more accessible to a wider audience.

  • Executive (42 kWh): Rs 17.99 lakh
  • Smart (42 kWh): Rs 19.00 lakh
  • Smart (O) (51.4 kWh): Rs 19.50 lakh
  • Premium (42 kWh): Rs 20.00 lakh
  • Excellence (51.4 kWh): Rs 23.50 lakh

Powertrain and Performance:

The Creta EV boasts two battery pack options: a 42 kWh unit for a claimed range of 390 km and a larger 51.4 kWh unit promising an impressive 473 km on a single charge. The electric motor delivers spirited performance, with the larger battery pack enabling a swift 0-100 km/h sprint in just 7.9 seconds.

Feature-Rich Interior:

Step inside the Creta EV, and you’re greeted by a modern and tech-savvy cabin. A large touchscreen infotainment system takes center stage, offering seamless connectivity and intuitive controls. Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) add a layer of safety and convenience, while comfortable seating ensures a pleasant journey for all occupants.

Exterior Styling:

The Creta EV retains the bold and stylish design cues of its internal combustion engine counterpart, albeit with subtle electric vehicle-specific touches. A closed-off grille, aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, and futuristic lighting elements contribute to its distinctive appeal.

Charging Infrastructure and Convenience:

Hyundai is committed to supporting the growth of the electric vehicle ecosystem in India. The company is actively expanding its charging infrastructure network, making it easier for Creta EV owners to charge their vehicles conveniently.

Market Impact:

The launch of the Creta EV is a game-changer for the Indian electric vehicle market. The combination of a well-established brand name, competitive pricing, and impressive features is expected to attract a significant number of buyers. The Creta EV will undoubtedly face competition from other electric SUVs, but its strong brand equity and comprehensive package position it as a formidable contender.

The Future of Electric Mobility:

The Hyundai Creta EV signifies the brand’s commitment to driving the adoption of electric vehicles in India. With its focus on innovation, customer-centric approach, and expanding charging infrastructure, Hyundai is paving the way for a sustainable and electrified future of mobility.
