We are witnessing the interest and sales of electric cars have been increased. According to the Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV) Indian electric vehicle industry sales report for the financial year 2021, the sales of electric four-wheelers was recorded 3,000 units in FY2019-2020 to 4,588 units in FY2020-21. This means there’s a 52.93 percent growth in the segment. Whereas if we look at the other two segments such as electric two-wheelers (E2W) and electric three-wheelers (E3W) sales recorded less when compared to the previous year. The G80 is Genesis first electric car which made its debut at Auto Shanghai. It is the mid-size four doors all-electric which will launch in 2022. While we look for its specifications, it accelerates 0-60 in 4.9-seconds and is expected to give 365-hp, 272kW and 516 lb. ft of torque (700 NM). It is paired with two motors 182-hp and 258 lb. ft and has a claimed range of more than 500 kms on single charge.

This electric car is expected to launch in mid of 2021. The Range of Taycan is 333 to 463 km. Its top speed is 260 km/h and battery capacity is 93.4 kWh and fast Charging time is 23 minutes. Its motor peak power is 560 kW and has a torque of 1049 Nm. Its ex-showroom price is 1.08 crore rupees.

Lucid Air

Lucid Motors an electric vehicle startup aims to commence the sales of its first luxury sedan electric car, Lucid Air in early 2021. The Lucid Air has an estimated range of 517 miles which is 832 km.

Pravaig MK1

This electric car is expected to launch at the end of 2021. The Range of MK 1 is 504 km and its top speed is 196 km/h. Its battery capacity is 96 kWh and fast Charging time is 30 min. Its motor peak power is 150 kW and has a torque of 2400 Nm. Its ex-showroom price is 1 crore rupees.

BMW i3

This electric car is expected to launch in June 2021. The Range of i3 is 280 km and the top speed is 150 km/h. Its battery capacity is 42 kWh and its charging time is 6 hours. It gives a torque of 250 Nm and its Ex-showroom price is 1 Crore rupees.

Jaguar I-pace

Jaguar is about to launch its electric SUV I-pace in India. The car a range of 470 km and supports fast charging of 125 km in 15 min. The car has three different variants with ex-showroom prices ranging up to 1-1.5 crores.

Mercedes Benz EQC

Mercedes Benz EQC is the first electric from Mercedes in India. The car has a range of 445-470 km. The car supports fast charging of 80% in 1 hr 50 min. The ex-showroom price of the car is around 1.1 crore in India. 

Tesla Model 3

This electric car is expected to launch in June 2021. The Range of tesla model 3 is 500 km and its top speed is 260 km/h. Its battery capacity is 60 kWh and its Fast Charging time is 30 minutes. Its Motor peak power is 258 kW and has a torque of 493 Nm. Its ex-showroom price is 55 lakh rupees.

Audi E-Tron

This electric car is expected to launch in Jan 2021. The Range of the Audi eTron is 400 km and its top speed is 200 km/h Its battery capacity is 95 kWh and its fast Charging time is 50 min. Its motor power is 265 kW and has a torque of 261 Nm. Its ex-showroom price is 1 crore rupees.

Volvo XC40

This electric car is expected to launch in mid of 2021. The Range of Volvo xc 40 is 418 km. Its top speed is 180 km/h and its battery capacity is 78 kWh. It chargers quickly in 40 min. Its motor peak power is 150 kW and has a torque of 330 Nm. Its ex-showroom price is 50 lakh rupees.

Cadillac Lyriq

The GM’s first generation electric vehicle, Cadillac Lyriq has unveiled last week and the company has confirmed the electric SUV is going to start at less than $60,000. It is a low price for the premium SUV which uses the GM’s Ultrium platform.

It has got a great design with a range of 300 miles, 150 kW fast charging and some of its specifications need to announce by the company. Steve Carlisle, president of General Motors North America, confirmed that the Cadillac Lyriq will start at less than $60,000.
