EV Infrastructure establishment in AMC partners EESL. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) entered into a partnership under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.

The AMC is an urban local body which established under Gujarat Municipal Provincial Act. The partnership will establish an Electric vehicles (EVs) infrastructure in AMC area for 10 years.
MoU between EESL & AMC to promote EVs
The MoU of understanding is signed yesterday to work together to adopt e-mobility in Ahmedabad by setting up around 100 public charging stations and promote EVs on rental and purchase bases in AMC area.
Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony, Venkatesh Dwivedi, Director (Projects), EESL stated “Electric Vehicles (EVs) are at the forefront of the global agenda to move towards a sustainable future. EESL is leading initiatives to promote EV adoption in India under the Indian Government’s National eMobility Mission. We are delighted to partner with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) for harnessing synergies and opportunities in this broader effort.”
EESL responsible for EV infrastructure investments
EESL will completely look after the investments for services, operations and maintenance of public charging stations and AMC will be responsible to provide the space for the installation of charging stations, power connections, load sanction, and meter connection.
AMC saves 4.46 tonnes of CO2 emissions per day
By the installation of EVs charging stations AMC is expected to save 4.46 tonnes of CO2 emissions on per e-car per day.
Government of Gujarat is working to introduce the EV policy for the State for the development of the EVs.
Under the EESL program, it has completed tender processes to obtain 10,000 e-cars.
The electric cars will be charged with the 286 AC & 142 DC chargers.
EESL had made agreements with many PSUs, Government departments, State Governments of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Telangana.
