Euler Motors bags 2,500 small electric CVs orders from e-commerce companies 

Electric vehicles are becoming more common in fleet manufacturers, e-commerce companies are opting for electric vehicles for their fleet operations for the first and last-mile operations. Euler Motors an electric commercial vehicle manufacturer announced that it has received orders for 2,500 vehicles from e-commerce companies like Big Basket, Flipkart and Udaan. Euler Motors bags orders for small electric CVs 

The companies are will deploy Euler Motors’ electric vehicles across National Capital Region, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai to strengthen their first, mid and last-mile operations. The deliveries of the autos will be taken place in 6-8 months.

Euler Motors has also said that it has set to launch its first three-wheeler L5 cargo automobile. At present, the company is running a pilot project with e-commerce, FMCG companies for intra-city delivery in Delhi-NCR with its 300 vehicles. Many e-commerce companies such as Flipkart, Amazon, etc are planning to adopt electric vehicles for last-mile delivery of goods.

Saurav Kumar, the founder and CEO of the company said that it is glad to see such great response, pre-launch order booking which is testimony to the customer confidence and the strong performance and value proposition of the product.

“Our discussions with them have shaped our product deeply, based on valuable insights around customer needs and use case scenarios. Our vision is to transform the commercial EV segment and its impact on India and set global benchmarks. We will soon focus on expanding our capacity and footprint to better meet our customers in more locations and in scale expectations,” added Kumar.

Amazon deploys 100 electric three-wheelers 

Recently, Amazon, its Indian unit has announced that it will deploy around 100 electric three-wheeler vehicles from Mahindra Electric in seven cities across the country. Read further to know more about Amazon India deploying Mahindra’s electric three-wheelers.

This move is part of Amazon target to deploy 10,000 electric vehicles in its fleet of delivery vehicles by 2025, which the company had announced last year. Amazon India in a statement said that Amazon’s electric three-wheeler “Treo Zor” has been deployed in many major metro cities like Bengaluru, New Delhi and Hyderabad.

Last year, it had ordered 1,800 electric vans from Mercedes-Benz for its European delivery fleet. This move is a part of the online retailer plan to run a carbon-neutral business by 2040.

Till now, it is the biggest order for Mercedes Benz for electric vehicles to date which includes 800 vans for Germany and 500 for the United Kingdom. Amazon’s recent order for 100,000 electric delivery vans from Rivian Automotive LLC, a startup it has invested in. The Amazon Chief Executive Jeff Bezos said in a statement that the Daimler agreement was part of retailers “journey to build sustainable transportation fleet in the world.”

Flipkart partners Mahindra EDEL to deploy electric vehicles in its fleet 

In 2020 Mahindra had launched its EDEL and partnered with the e-commerce and consumer companies to offer them last-mile delivery in 6 cities in India. The e-commerce company Flipkart has already partnered with many OEMs and have included two and three-wheeled electric vehicles into its fleet.

MLL will procure different types of electric vehicles from OEMs as it is making its presence Pan-India. The electric delivery brand EDEL has already electric vehicles in its fleets in larger amounts. It has its presence across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata, and Hyderabad and plans to cover more than 20 cities by 2021.
