Hero Electric’s AE-47 bike India launch delayed

Hero Electric’s AE-47 bike India launch delayed as the COVID-9 crisis has put a lot of launches on hold and postpone too. Hero Electric CEO Sohinder Gill said that the launch of the brand’s first-ever electric motorcycle has also got delayed due to the ongoing pandemic.

Urja Global signed MOU with Ogata Motors India

Urja Global has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ogata Motors India for manufacturing of electric vehicles in Delhi. Both the companies have signed an MoU for the manufacturing of electric vehicles (E-Scooters, E-Autos and E-Cars) in the National Capital i.e. Delhi on June 23, 2020, and approved the same in the Board Meeting held on June 27, 2020.

Mahindra to launch 3 electric vehicles in this FY

Mahindra is expected to launch three electric vehicles by the end of the current fiscal year. The company plans to launch the Atom electric and the Treo Zor as commercial vehicles are gaining a lot of demand in the EV segment. The company claimed the cheapest eKUV100 is in launch pipeline.

Mahindra has sold over 14,000 EVs last year among the sales most of them were the Trio electric auto rickshaw.

FICCI asked govt to extend FAME-II for 2 years

Industry body FICCI urges government to extend FAME-II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India Phase II (FAME India Phase II) scheme till 2025, to boost electric vehicles demand. FICCI’s EV committee submitted the recommendation to the government to seek immediate support from policymakers to develop EVs in the short term and encourage investments in the EV sector.

These suggestions have been submitted to NITI Aayog, the Department of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and other relevant authorities in the government, it said.

“As demand and investments in the electric vehicles sector are severely hit due to disruptions caused by COVID-19, FICCI has suggested to the government, a series of measures to ensure continuity of the EV growth road map and achievement of the targets as envisioned by the government for the sector in the next decade,” the FICCI release said.

Citroen launches electric hatchback e-C4

The new Citroen electric hatchback is a new generation compact electric vehicle inspired by the customers and their various ways of driving.

It has a WLTP range of 217 miles (350 km). It has a powerful electric motor and gives 136 hp, 260 Nm of torque, it accelerates 0-62 mph time of 9.7 seconds in sports mode and a top speed of 93 mph (150 kmph). It is equipped with a 50 kWh battery pack and is rated as high-voltage 400 V Li-ion. Its battery warranty is eight years or 100,000 miles for 70% of charge capacity.

Simple Mark 2 electric scooter launch in Feb 2021

A Bengaluru based startup Simple Energy is making high performance and high-speed electric scooter, Simple Mark 2. The Simple electric scooter is made of 85% local components and lithium-ion battery cells are imported from Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.

While looking into its specifications it has got 4.2 kWh lithium-ion battery which delivers a 9.4 hp of peak power output and 72 Nm of torque. It will have three ride modes-Eco, Normal, and Sports which gives a range of 260 km, 220 km and 180 km. Its top speed is 35-40 kph in Eco mode and 100 kph in Sports mode. It accelerates 0-50 kph in 3.2 seconds. It takes 1 hour and 5 minutes to charge using a home socket and with fast charging 0-50% can be charged in just 20 minutes.

It has some smart features like Bluetooth and Internet Connectivity. The startup is planning to launch this electric
scooter in February 2021 beginning with Bengaluru and Mumbai with a price tag of 1.1 lakh
rupees.

Lordstown Motors Corp to launch an electric pickup truck

Lordstown Motors Corp is planning to launch electric pickup truck at an event as it is looking to begin producing vehicles at a former General Motors factory in northeast Ohio.
The company will start delivering the electric pickup to customers by January 2021 and is still working to raise additional capital.

GM plans to build its first electric pickup truck in 2021. Tesla Inc plans to start building its electric Cybertruck in 2021, while Nikola Corp plans to build an electric truck by 2022.
Electric vehicle startup Rivian plans to build an electric pickup truck starting in late 2020, while Ford Motor Co will introduce an electric F-150 truck in 2022.

BGauss 2 electric scooters to launch next month in India

BGauss, a sub-brand of RR Global, which is India’s largest firm in the electrical industry. BGauss has provides a range of electric scooters in India.

BGauss is launching its two electric scooters in India next month. The BGauss A2 is a slow-speed and entry-level electric scooter which will be available in two variants, lead-acid and lithium-ion.
It is equipped with a 250 W BLDC electric motor and its top speed is 25 kmph. Its lead-acid battery pack takes 7-8 hours to get fully charged, the lithium-ion battery pack gets fully juiced up in 2 hours 15 minutes. The range of this electric scooter is the same for both the variants 110 km.

Its high speed and premium electric scooter which has three variants including lead-acid, lithium-ion, and LI technology. It has a 1.9 kW Bosch BLDC electric motor and it gives a top speed of 50 km/h.
range, the lead-acid variant offers 78 km whereas the lithium-ion and LI technology variant can cover 70 km in a full charge.

The BGauss slow and high-speed electric scooters have this features-LED instrument cluster, LED lighting, disc brakes, and regenerative braking. They have 3 riding modes including Low, Medium, and High. Its B8 Li technology variant comes with some additional features such as Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, ride metrics, geofencing, remote diagnostics, live tracking, etc.

It will have direct competition with recently launched Gemopai Miso, the premium BGauss B8 will compete with Chetak electric scooter.
