Ducati’s first electric bicycle ‘Ducati MIG-RR’
Ducati is a famous Italian motorcycle manufacturer and Ducati MIG-RR is its first electric mountain bicycle. It was unveiled last year at 2018 EICMA Milan Motorcycle Show. It is also known as Ducati’s electric mountain bike. Here are the details of Ducati’s first electric bicycle ‘Ducati MIG-RR’.
Ducati MIG-RR electric bicycle was created as a partnership between Ducati and Thok E-Bikes. Both the companies joined to form a combination of Thok’s e-bike building experience and the Ducati’s legendary design.
Ducati’s first electric bicycle ‘Ducati MIG-RR’
It is an upgraded version to Thok’s current MIG line of electric mountain bikes. The MIG-RR features a 250 W Shimano Steps E8000 mid-drive. The motor is having a capacity of 70 Nm (51.6 ft-lbs) of torque.
It will rely on a 36V and 14 Ah (504 Wh) underslung down the battery. That helps in making the bike lightweight. As a mountain bike, Ducati MIG-RR is well equipped in the bicycle component department.
It is equipped with an aluminium frame with new geometry, 170 mm of front travel and 160 mm on the back. It is having a 504Wh battery and its suspensions at the front are FOX 36 Float 29 Factory Series Kashima FIT4 3 position 170 mm, customised tunning rear – 170 mm – customized tuning Rear: FOX DPX2 Factory Series – 160 mm – customized tuning. It has Shimano Saint – 4 callipers – 203mm front and rear. It has a transmission at Shimano XT- 11 speed-11-46.

Why its in news?
Ducati has announced that its first electric bicycle is finally going to be available for sale in the US.
CEO of Ducati North America Jason Chinnick said, “We introduced the Mig-RR to Europe last year, and we had a very, very positive response. Overwhelming, in fact, to the point where we knew that it was a perfect opportunity for North America. And this is a product that is top of the line.”
The bike will come in a few models with a price tag of around $4,000 to $7,000. To get this e-bike US customers have to wait for a while as MIG-RR will be first available to order online only to Europen customers. The e-bike will be delivered using the Ducati’s existing dealer network which starts very soon in this month.
