BYD launches e6 electric MPV in India
BYD has launched the new e6 an electric MPV in India which is priced at t Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The e6 MPV is an all-electric vehicle that is in the Indian market that is designed for the B2B segment at current. It is not for personal use and only the businesses can place fleet orders for the vehicle.
It is available in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Chennai only.
Features
It features LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, a 10.1-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and wifi connectivity, a CN95 air filtration system and a 6-way adjustable driver and front passenger seats.
Specifications
Talking about its technical specifications, BYD e6 is a five-seater electric MPV that is built on the e-platform of the BYD. It is equipped with a powerful 71.7kWh lithium iron phosphate battery that provides 95hp, 180Nm to a single electric motor. It gives a top speed of 130kph and is capable of regenerating energy from as low as 2kph.
BYD claims that on a single charge the e6 can provide a combined range of up to 520 km. It can be charged using both AC and DC current. With the help of a fast charger DC, it can charge 30 to 80 per cent in 35 minutes.
Warranty
The EV comes with a warranty of 3 years/125,000 km, a battery cell warranty of 8 Years/500,000 km and a traction motor warranty of 8 Years/150,000 km.
BYD to increase prices of lithium battery cells
Recently, BYD had announced that it is increasing the prices of its lithium battery cells by at least 20 per cent from next month i.e., from November 1. The rise in the price of lithium is because of the price hike in the raw materials for lithium batteries in 2021 and the price of the cathode material LiCoO2 rises by more than 200 per cent and electrolyte prices rise by more than 150 per cent.
The material supply chain continues to rise to lead to an increase in comprehensive costs.BYD will need to up the price of its battery cells to compensate for its own comprehensive price increases.
The BYD and its customers will sign a new contract for new orders and implement the new prices and the old contract orders that are not yet completed will be closed and cancelled.
It had also announced that it has sold 68,018 battery-electric buses worldwide which helps to eliminate 114,947,040 tons of CO2 emissions, 1,836,432 cars worth of emissions, 80,160 tons of nitrogen oxide, 23,805,600 lbs of diesel particulate matter according to the transportation govt calculations.
