Bosch Electric Three-wheeler
Bosch Limited is into the Indian market with its electric three-wheelers. The company to launch electric three-wheeler this year.
Soumitra Bhattacharya, Managing Director, Bosch Limited and President, Bosch Group, India said, “We have set up project houses for electrification and supplied our proof of concepts (PoCs) to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the three-wheeler and two-wheeler category. We are in every area of electrification other than battery cells. We will announce the names of our customers closer to the launch.”
The company manufactures EVs products including drives, battery pack etc. It does not manufacture battery cells and says that is automakers wish to choose their own battery cells. It will provide products for commercial vehicles, two and three-wheelers and also the electric cars are on the list in a later stage.

Bhattacharya says even when there is a growth in EVs market, internal combustion engine (ICE) passenger vehicles will dominate the role of EVs.
As Supreme court orders transition to BS-IV emission norms by 2020, “This is the fastest transition into a new emission standard in the world. While the whole world has done it in eight years, the Indian automotive industry is doing it in just three years,” he said.

Bosch following 3S strategy, which means Sensors, Software, and Services, it is researching on these concepts. The company invested Rs 1,200 crore to develop its factory in Bidadi and Adugodi smart campus in which 15,000 employees working in the campus, Bhattacharya said.
