Bharat Forge entered into EVs segment

Bharat Forge a Pune based auto forged components manufacturer is all set to enter the electric vehicle market with two-wheelers and three-wheelers in FY22. The company’s vehicles will launch in the second half of the year.

Tork Motors, an associate company has met the needs of the FAME II Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles. The deputy managing director of Bharat Forge, Amit Kalyani said that “We are happy to report that Tork Motors has achieved FAME-II homologation for multiple products, both in two- and three-wheelers and launches are being planned accordingly. We will make a detailed announcement in November.”

Tork has developed an electric motorcycle that is completely designed and developed in India it is made in India bike. The components are purely localized and the only imported component is the Li-ion battery. This will reduce the price of the electric motorcycle.

A Pune based startup Tork Motors has set up its first electric vehicle charging stations in India. This charging station is installed at Cafe Peter’s Bund Garden Road outlet in Pune. This EV charging station can be used by any electric vehicle that has a GB/T plug. It is made to suit the Indian EV specifications. The company is willing to set up more such charging stations starting with Maharashtra and to other regions.

The EV charging station comes with a secure connector that helps to offer a fast charging option also. The chargers have a capacity of up to a 100V battery. The company will also add a plethora of chargers that will help to charge any EV in the market.

Tork is also looking to partner with three-wheeler manufacturers for the supply of electric powertrains. It aims to achieve a 5-6 per cent market share by 2025 in the e-mobility space
