Being the best electric scooters manufacturers in India, Ather Energy from the stage of ‘electric isn’t fun and it will be a poor experience five years ago is now investing in a new factory to manufacture close to half a million electric scooters every year.
Ather invests in new factory to manufacture half million e-scooters
Currently the company’s Bengaluru factory has a capacity of manufacturing 30,000 units per year. The new factory is expected to be in Southern Indian States.
The company’s co-founders and CEO, Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain took this challenge five years ago. The Bengaluru co-founder and CEO, Tarun Mehta said that, “When we started Ather, five years ago, it was a daunting challenge that we were preparing ourselves for, that we will build this cool vehicle, but most people will come in with the expectation that ‘electric isn’t fun and it will be a poor experience,’”
“And we were preparing ourselves to educate potential customers about Ather’s scooters.”
Since that time the customers are picking the most expensive one Ather 450 costing 1,13,715 on road Bengaluru price than the cheaper Ather 340 (₹1,02,460).
Mehta says that it is the sign that people are seeing electric vehicles as the genuine upgrades. The product is so popularized and most chosen one for its product development mastery and after-sales customer experience and no doubt the wonderful features like unobtrusive software updates time-to-time.
After the GST cut from 12 percent to 5 percent. The Ather 450 new price is Rs.1,13,715 in Bengaluru and Rs.1,22,224 for buyers in Chennai.
The Ather 340′s new price is Rs.1,02,460 in Bengaluru and at Rs.1,10,443 in Chennai. The Ather’s scooters are on sale in Bengaluru and Chennai and the company is looking forward to make an expansion to the other big cities such as Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Pune and 30 other cities by 2023.
