Over 90 crores in refunds have already been processed for owners of Ather e-scooters by Ather Energy
Founder and CEO of Ather Energy, Tarun Mehta, has taken to his social media platforms to announce that they have already processed more than 90 crores in refunds for tens of thousands of Ather e-scooter owners and that they plan to complete the process successfully in the next few weeks with all their eligible customers.
Ather Energy is one of the electric vehicle start-up manufacturers that is making waves in the EV market in an attempt to provide customers with a refund for an extra amount that they had paid for the charger of their vehicle after Hero MotoCorp, TVS, and Ola Electric had already done so. Ather Energy confirmed earlier this week that it will be extending reimbursements to eligible customers who purchase Ather Electric scooters and need to shell out extra money for chargers as a result of buying those scooters. I was also informed earlier that the process will take some time since each customer pays a different amount for the charger for their vehicle.
According to the present announcement, customers can get a refund form through the Ather app, where it can be printed out for convenience. In addition, he pointed out that they would only be able to see the form there if they were eligible. In my opinion, this is a super neat and simple way for the company to transfer the refund, and they should be able to do so within a couple weeks. It is important to stay on top of any bugs (this was a super custom development process) and hopefully there will not be many to worry about in the near future!
As part of their refund process, the company issued an official statement earlier this month that explained that they would be refunding the invoiced amount for the chargers of vehicles bought before the 12th of April, 2023 in order to be fair to the customers who had bought the vehicle prior to this change.
