Gemopai, the new competitor in the electric scooter category
One of the new names to enter the Indian electric bike market is Gemopai – a joint endeavor between Delhi-based Goreen E-Mobility and China-based Opai, which happens to be the fourth-biggest electric bike maker in China with a yearly sale of 2.5 million units of which nearly half of a million are traded to markets in Europe and South America. Opai is now entering into manufacturing of electric two-, three-wheelers and has two electric vehicles in its portfolio also. So, in this regard, Astrid Lite, is the new Electric Scooter from Gemopai.
Gemopai plans to set up a manufacturing plant in India
Gemopai as of now imports most of the crucial components for its electric bikes from China, yet it has plans to set up a manufacturing plant in India to expand localization. The company will set up the plant when it sees an expansion in sales volumes.
Gemopai plans to tie up with shared-mobility platforms and pilot ventures are right now in progress to test the practicality. Gemopai expects to sell 15,000 electric bikes in this monetary year and furthermore to extend its number of touchpoints all over the nation.
Astrid Lite, the new Electric Scooter from Gemopai
Gemopai will launch two new electric scooters this year. Out of two, one is launching later this month. Gemopai Astrid Lite will have a range of 80-90 km and a top speed of 65-70 km/hr. It will compete with Ather 450 electric scooter in India.
Gemopai bikes accompany portable batteries, which means one can either connect the bike legitimately to charge or haul out the battery and charge it in their home or office. Another Gemopai Electric scooter which will be a more advanced version of Astrid Lite will be launched by the end of this year and it will get all the benefits of Fame II subsidy also.
