Customers in Kathmandu have received the first batch of Tata Motors’ zero-emission small CVs
Tata Motors has launched the Ace EV, a zero-emission version of its popular small utility vehicle, in Nepal through its sole authorized distributor, Sipradi Trading. The first fleet of Tata Ace EVs has been delivered to customers in Kathmandu. This marks the launch of the Ace EV on the global market.
After conducting rigorous real-world testing, Tata Motors launched the Tata Ace EV in May 2022. At the launch, the Tata Ace EV received 39,000 pre-orders and the company signed an MoU with leading e-commerce companies and logistics service providers in the Indian market.
Ace EV, the first product to use Tata Motors’ Evogen powertrain, is equipped with a 27 kW (36 horsepower) engine that produces a maximum torque of 130 Nm. This zero-emission compact utility vehicle has a certified range of 154 km, an advanced battery cooling system, and a regenerative braking system for increased driving range. Designed for city applications and aimed at e-commerce logistics and last-mile mobility operators, the Tata Ace EV has a cargo volume of 208 cubic feet and a 22% tilt. , allowing easy climbing under full load conditions. Ace EV’s tanks are customized to meet customer requirements in Nepal.
According to Anurag Mehrotra, Head of International Business for Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, the transportation industry is becoming increasingly electrified. This trend is irreversible. According to his words at Tata Motors, their commitment to accelerating the adoption of cleaner and greener transportation solutions is strengthening. The launch of Ace EV marks an important milestone in their journey to provide zero-emission freight services in Nepal. Nepal thrives on clean electricity through hydroelectric projects and the launch of the new Ace EV will further complement the country’s progress towards clean energy.
