There is good news for those who are planning to buy an electric scooter, here are some of the suggestions from Okinawa you can choose from. The Okinawa electric scooters will get subsidy between Rs 17,000 and Rs 26,000 under the FAME 2 scheme.
Okinawa Electric Scooters To Get FAME Subsidy Rs 17-26k

FAME II Scheme
Under the FAME II scheme (Faster Adoption and Manufacture of hybrid and Electric vehicles) which had started from 1st April 2019 provides incentives to the electric vehicles.
The company got an approval of subsidy under this scheme to promote green vehicles in India. But the subsidies are implemented to only those OEMs who meet certain conditions.
Okinawa Electric Scooters
The company’s both electric scooters, Okinawa i-Praise, and Ridge+ will enjoy the subsidy from the government through the FAME scheme.
Both the electric scooter’s batteries are Lithium-Ion and the battery pack is 2.9 KWh which is recommended under the scheme.
Conditions for an EV to get subsidy under FAME scheme, an electric two-wheeler must have a top speed of at least 40 kmph, range of at least 80 km per full charge, must have Lithium-ion battery pack and should have 50% of local content.
i-Praise Electric Scooter
The i-praise electric scooter has met with the criteria as it has waterproof brushless DC motor of 2,500 watts with the top-speed of 75 kmph, the battery pack is 2.9 KWh, the range is of around 160-180 km per charge and it will take 2-3 hours to charge this EV.
The price before subsidy starts at INR 1.16 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Ridge+ Electric Scooters
Ridge+ Electric Scooters have a 1,200-watt BLDC motor with a battery pack of 1.75 KWh. The range is 90-100 km with a top speed of 55 kmph.
The Ridge+ e-scooter is priced at INR 79,290 (ex-showroom).

But we are not sure about the information about the subsidies that the Okinawa scooters are getting Rs.17000 and 26,000 as the Okinawa didn’t announce it officially. So let us wait for the official announcement.
