Jharkhand Government officials started using electric vehicles. On September 12, Cheif minister Raghubar Das flagged off electric vehicles at Jharkhand secretariat in the presence of senior government officials. 50 Electric vehicles were ordered by the state government. During the first phase,20 electric vehicles were handed over to Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL).
Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) made an agreement with JBVNL to provide electric vehicles, under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, for the deployment of 50 electric vehicles at various JBVNL offices in Ranchi.
12 EV Charging stations in JBVNL
Initially, 12 charging stations have been set up at four offices of JBVNL. Charging stations are crucial for the promotion of e-mobility.
1.20 Lakh liters of Fuel Savings
Jharkhand government step towards e-mobility is a remarkable one. Usage of electric vehicles to help JBVNL save more than 1.20 lakh fuel every year and reduce harmful co2 emissions by over 1,400 tonnes annually.
The JBVNL will be benefitted using electric vehicles because of zero maintenance and zero fuel costs.

Its a great step by the Jharkhand government to promote electric vehicles. This kind of initiation by the government helps to build confidence in EV manufacturers.
