Mahindra, a well-known Indian automaker, is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated electric SUV, the XUV.e9. Recent spy shots captured the car undergoing testing on Indian roads, generating excitement among electric vehicle enthusiasts.

Camouflaged Glimpse:

The test mule was spotted sporting a cryptic electric blue camouflage wrap, cleverly concealing most design details. However, keen observers could discern the XUV.e9’s silhouette, hinting at a sporty coupe-like SUV design. Spy shots reveal a sleek LED taillight design, a prominent rear spoiler, and integrated high-mounted stop lamps.

Expected Features:

Based on previous announcements and leaks, the XUV.e9 is expected to be a powerhouse on wheels. Here’s what we know so far:

  • Platform: The XUV.e9 will likely be built on the INGLO platform co-developed by Mahindra and Volkswagen. This platform is specifically designed for electric vehicles, offering advantages in terms of performance and efficiency.
  • Battery and Range: Rumors suggest the XUV.e9 might pack an 80kWh battery pack, potentially offering a driving range of around 450 km on a single charge. This would put it in direct competition with other long-range electric SUVs in the Indian market.
  • Spacious Interior: Leaks suggest a spacious and modern interior with a possible three-screen layout on the dashboard. This could include a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a separate passenger display.

Launch Timeline:

While the exact launch date remains under wraps, previous reports suggest the XUV.e9 is expected to hit the market sometime in 2025. The recent test sightings indicate Mahindra is in the final stages of development, putting a potential launch date on the horizon.

Mahindra’s electric vehicle push is gaining momentum, and the XUV.e9 is shaping up to be a significant contender in the Indian electric SUV segment. With its anticipated features and sleek design, the XUV.e9 has the potential to disrupt the market and attract eco-conscious car buyers.
