Xiaomi is a Chinese tech giant that is well-known for its smartphones. Today, it has made its debut in the electric vehicle (EV) market with the launch of its first electric car, SU7. The name ‘SU’ translates to ‘Speed Ultra’. The event took place on YouTube with a live presentation that showed off the cutting-edge EV technology that has been incorporated into the vehicle. During the event, Xiaomi showed off official SUV photos and revealed more details. The company is now ready to take on Tesla and other major players in the automotive industry. SU7 is available in three different models: the SU7, SU7 Pro, and the SU7 Max.

Explore the SU7 powertrain options Xiaomi offers the SU7 in two battery pack options. In the entry-level trim, the battery comes from BYD and has a LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) capacity of 73.6kWh. For the other configurations, you can opt for CATL’s larger 101kWh Cell-to-Body (CBT) battery pack. It has an estimated range of 800 kms on a single charge. Xiaomi also plans to launch a new version of the SU7 with a 150kWh battery pack at a later date, which is expected to provide a range of 1200 kms. According to Xiaomi, the V6 and the V6S have a combined power output of 299 HP, and the V8 has a power output of 374 HP. The SU7 is among the fastest EVs on the global market. The SU7 has a Hypercharge capability of 800v, which means that you can get a 220kms charge in 5 minutes, and 510kms in 15 minutes.

Price:
Xiaomi has not yet announced the price of the SU7 series, however, Chairman Lei has indicated that the price could be higher, while also acknowledging that the word “expensive” is subjective.
