Himachal Pradesh govt approved draft EV policy 

The Himachal Pradesh government has approved a draft electric vehicle policy to promote an eco-friendly transport system for making Himachal Pradesh an electric vehicles hub where electric vehicles will be developed and manufactured and as well as electric vehicles public and private charging infrastructure. The main objective of this EV policy is to make battery electric vehicles form at least 15% of the new vehicle registrations by 2025. The government would incentivise the adoption of electric vehicles across the segments and apart from that, it will also create a public charging stations network.

Himachal Pradesh EV policy 

It will install at least one charging station that will be available within b every 1km x 1km grid in major cities and towns and at least one slow-charging station on both sides will be installed at every 25km on state highways. At least one fast-charging point (on each side) every 50kms on busy national highways will also be deployed.

The three cities-Shimla, Baddi and Dharamshala will be the model cities for EV readiness and adoption which envisages the electrification of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses and cabs.

The Meghalaya, Gujarat, Delhi, Telangana, and Maharashtra governments and Goa draft EV policy has also been announced. The Odisha government has last month announced a 100% exemption of motor vehicle tax and registration fees for electric vehicles in the state to encourage the growth and faster adoption of electric vehicles.

The State Government announced a 100% exemption on motor vehicles taxes and registration fees for battery-operated vehicles under the Odisha Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, which is applicable till 2025. Transport Minister Padmanav Behera earlier said that the Transport department has submitted a proposal to the government for allowing subsidy on e-vehicles to attract customers.
