BYD launched new e-Platform 3.0 for electric vehicles
BYD has launched the e-platform 3.0 for electric vehicles at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show and it has also debuted its X Dream concept car and all-new EA1.
The e-Platform is specially designed for the next generation of high-performance smart EVs that offers 4 major advantages such as intelligence, efficiency, safety, and aesthetics. The e-Platform product series will have the opening with its new EA1 model and the X Dream will have the features of a “Dragon face” design language with a more innovative design.

BYD e-Platform 3.0 comes with smart genes with much more advantages mentioned above i.e, intelligence, efficiency, safety, and aesthetics.
Intelligence & Efficiency
In terms of intelligence, it comes with a BYD’s self-developed vehicle operating system which is expandable, upgradeable, and fully open to developers. In terms of efficiency, the e-platform key modules are smaller, lighter, stronger, and lower energy consumption.
It is equipped with a new heat pump technology with a newly upgraded 8-in-1 module for the drive system. If an electric vehicle is equipped with an e-platform it will just take 2.9 seconds to go from 0 to 100km/h with the range of up to 1,000km. It can be charged with an 800V fast charging technology that charges the vehicle in just 5 minutes to give it a range of 150km. The power consumption is also reduced by 10% per 100 kilometres and the range is 10% longer in winters.
Safety
In terms of safety, the ultra-safe blade battery is a standard feature of the e-Platform 3.0 which is the safest battery ever.
Aesthetics
In terms of aesthetics, it comes with shorter front overhangs, wider wheelbase, lower centre of gravity, more space, sense of movement and dynamics.
Some of the companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, and Didi Chuxing have partnered with BYD to develop EVs and it is open to the entire industry.
