Okinawa Scooters sold 10,133 units 

The electric two-wheelers are on high demand than any other vehicles categories in India. At current we have five major electric two-wheelers manufacturers in India such as Okinawa, Hero Electric, Ather Energy, Ampere Vehicles and Revolt Motors. The major automakers TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto have also entered into the EV industry with their two-wheelers iQube and Chetak, respectively. 

In terms of Electric Vehicles sales in FY 2020, Okinawa has become the bestselling electric scooter brand in India. Okinawa with the sales of 10,133 units, has beaten the Hero Electric by more than 2,700 units. Ather Energy with sales numbers 2,908 is in the third position and Ampere Vehicles with 2,500. Whereas Revolt sold 1,062 units. 

Hero Electric has sold over 3,546 units

India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero Electric has sold over 3,546 units through online sales with the total number of sales 4,900 units from 20th April till date. The company has targeted for the year at over 50,000 units.

The Hero Electric has announced it ‘Be a Bike Buddy’ referral scheme for both its existing and new customers. The customers who purchased a Hero Electric product are eligible for a flat Rs 2,000 discount. Moreover, an additional discount of Rs.2,000 can be availed if such customer gets referred from an existing Hero E-bike owner.

Altogether the customer will be able to avail a maximum discount of Rs 4,000 on the purchase of a Hero Electric bike. Every 50th customer who books the Hero Electric scooter will also get “Glyde e-scoot” for free (T&C apply).

Electric vehicles sales rise 2.5 times-Mahindra Electric

This scheme is applicable on all vehicles (excluding Flash lead-acid low speed and Glyde E-Scoot model) purchased online from 25th June to 15th July. There are some other offerings from the company such as “3 days no questions asked” return policy, doorstep delivery and doorstep service continue through this scheme.

MG Motors dealership in Kochi sold 11 units in 1 day 

During the last week, the MG Motors dealership in Kochi, Kerala has witnessed the sales of 11 units of brand new MG ZS EV to the customers. This is the highest units of electric car delivered by a single dealer in 1 day. Similarly, last year the MG Motor India had created a record of delivering more than 700 units of Hector SUVs across India in 1 day.

The MG Motor India had launched its MG ZS EV earlier this year in January. It is said to be an internet electric SUV. It has received a great response from the people as it has received over 2,800 bookings in just 27 days. With the launch of ZS EV, MG Motor will set a remarkable mark in the electric vehicles industry.

It will be available in five cities initially such as Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru and later on in other cities. They are offering a special complimentary price for the first 1000 customers.

MG ZS EV is powered by a synchronous motor that gives 141 bhp and produces 353 Nm of peak torque. It is equipped with a 44.5 kWh battery pack which provides a range of 300 km on a single charge. It accelerates 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and it gives a top speed of 140 km/h. Its lithium-ion battery can be charged up to 80 per cent in 40 minutes with the help of a 50 kW DC charger. It takes seven hours to charge it with a standard 7 kW charger. It is IP67 certified which means it is water and dustproof.

Its Excite and Exclusive variants are priced for Rs.20.88 and Rs.23.58 ex-showroom and it comes with a colour option which includes Ferris White, Currant Red and Copenhagen Blue.
