The Mahindra Atom Quadricycle India will launch has been delayed in India due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown.

The Automotive Division Mahindra CEO, Veejay Ram Nakra said that the launch of their electric model has been delayed due to the current situations. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the testing, validation and supply of components needed for the electric vehicles have been affected so there will be some delays in the electric vehicle launch.
Mahindra launched its Atom at the 2020 Auto Expo. It was expected to go sale in the third quarter of this year like many other plans this launched has been also delayed.

3 Seater Mahindra Atom Quadricycle

Atom Quadricycle is a three-seater with a 4g connectivity. The prototype model which was displayed includes a mobile phone holder, air-con vents. The three seating also includes the driver, wind-up roller handles for windows, flat-bottom steering wheel, large touchscreen for rear passenger entertainment.

This quadricycle will be assembled at the company’s plant in Bengaluru. The company didn’t reveal its specifications of Atom but we can expect that it can produce a power output of less than 15kW with a top speed of 70 km/h. 

When it will launch it will compete with the upcoming Bajaj Qute electric quadricycle in the Indian market.

Till now Mahindra has invested Rs 150 crore in quadricycles and Rs 250 crore in a new assembly line at its Bengaluru facility. The company also has plans of investing Rs 500 crore towards its R&D centre which is based in Bengaluru.
