and charges it!

Volkswagen automobile maker Volkswagen has unveiled its prototype for its new charging robot. The company recently showcased its vision for a charging robot that will navigate the parking garage. This robot will move on its own to find electric vehicles and charge them.

It will eliminate the need for EV charging spot or a specific section with fixed chargers. This robot will attach itself with a “battery wagon” at the base station, after that it can offer a combined charge of 50kW to the vehicle on request.

Volkswagen on-demand 50kW charge is said to be on-demand but it is not clear how can we request it. An EV owner is expected to use a smartphone app or a smart grid. But if we see 50kW is not really sufficient for a full recharge for most of the EVs. However, it can get you out from the trouble and make you reach your home.

The robot comes with ultrasonic sensors, cameras, and laser scanners. All these sensors will allow these robots to navigate parking areas and then find the charging port of the car. In a single garage or charging spots, multiple robots can be operated at the same time. The company has not yet disclosed the release date for these charging robots.

These robots will definitely help the electric vehicles and its users and as well as the manufacturers as it increases interest and demand in the market. It will also help the existing or the old garage owners to upgrade their existing properties. This will also save time and space.

But the charging capacity 50kW may become the drawback as it is not sufficient to charge fully to most of the vehicles. However, there is a lot of technology upgradations and innovations taking place today, we can expect the company may increase its robot charging capacity so that people will use them to the fullest.

However, the initiative taken from the Volkswagen (VW) is very interesting and cute looking and helps the electric vehicles users to charge their EVs. The on-demand charging process is still to be disclosed by the company, so stay updated to electricvehicles.in to get quick updates.
