MG Motors entered the Indian market with the launch of Hector SUV and gained good reviews. Now, the automaker is all set to launch its first electric vehicle.  MG ZS EV will be launched in India by December this year. The Electric SUV is powered by a 52.5kWh lithium-ion battery and will offer a driving range of 350km per one single charge.

 MG ZS EV will be launched in India by December

Initially, the company will launch the electric SUV in five cities. Once it attains greater acceptance, after it establishes proper infrastructure and constructs a trained dealer network, the EV will be launched in more cities further.

MG ZS EV is being brought in as a Complete Built Up (CBU) where 250 units will be imported from Shanghai. The company claims that the MG ZS EV will be a global vehicle and will offer a driving range of 350km per one single charge. MG ZS EV is powered by a 52.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It can be fully charged in eight hours by using a wall charger. It offers a top speed of 140 km/hr and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in just 8.5 seconds. 

This five seater Electric SUV comes with alloy wheels and it includes some safety features like 4 air bags, Immobilizer, Child Locking System, Central Locking System etc. The MG ZS EV is expected to be priced around Rs. 23 lakhs to 25 lakhs. 

MG Motors has partnered with Fortum in order to install 50 KW CCS/CHAdeMO DC fast Public Charging Stations for Electric Vehicles across MG’s showrooms in 5 cities including Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. Besides it, the firm has also partnered with Delta Electronics, a player in the AC charging space, to develop EV infrastructure.
