150 Electric Buses tender issued in Pune under FAME 2 

Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has issued a tender inviting bid for 150 electric buses. The last day for the online submission of technical and price bids is September 30, 2020. The tender falls under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid) and Electric Vehicles-II (FAME-II) program.

As per the tender criteria, the buses should be 12-meter-long, air-conditioned, and compliant with Bus Rapid Transit. The prospective bidders must pay an RfP fee of ₹59,179 and an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹26.25 million.

The scope of work includes the supply, operation & maintenance (O&M), and development of allied infrastructure on a gross cost contract (GCC) basis.

The operator must provide complete infrastructure, including the development, supply, and erection of transformers, electrical systems, sub-systems, and the charging infrastructure. They should supply the chargers and maintain complete charging infrastructure.

The bidding winners bidder must guarantee operations of 225 km per day for each electric bus on a single charge for the first ten years. The contract period could be extended by another two years. The bidders must be a bus manufacturer registered with the Department of Heavy Industries (DHI) under the FAME program.

They must have an experience of manufacturing and delivery of at least 25 electric or 80 diesel/CNG buses between April 1, 2015, and March 31, 2020, in India or overseas.

Rajasthan’s first electric bus contract

The first electric bus contract from Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has been bagged by GreenCell Mobility Private Limited. This contract comes under the Government of India’s Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME-II) scheme for the procurement of inter-city electric buses.

This electric buses will provide a range of 600 km per day. It has a seating capacity of the 43-seater state of the art buses will be equipped with some of the advances features like automatic transmission, electronically controlled air suspension, smart air filtration system, anti-lock disc braking system (ABS) and connected features including GPS, Wi-Fi, CCTV.

This is the first contract bagged by the company which aims to establish green travel tourist circuit between different cities in Rajasthan including Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Delhi and Agra also connects.
