Electric cars in India have gained momentum with a launch of Tata Nexon EV, it has become the best selling electric car in India till now. Though India has insufficient charging infrastructure still the EV industry is growing and will be in demand in upcoming years. Let us now look more at the upcoming electric car of Citroen eCC21 electric SUV.

We have witnessed already some great electric car launches from big players such as Tata Motors, MG Motor, Hyundai, etc. Tesla’s entry into India is great news itself but let us see how the company manages itself in India. Yes, it is a big challenge for the company and consumers in India but overcoming challenges will bring great success in the EV industry.

While we are waiting for other electric cars to launch, let us discuss Citroen’s upcoming electric SUV that is going to launch in India at the end of 2021 or at the starting of 2022. It is also expected that the company will first launch C5 Aircross and C21 sub-compact SUV in India.

The Citreon eCC21 is a micro electric SUV which is expected to be priced around 8 lakhs rupees in India and it is expected to launch at the end of 2022.

The eCC21 is expected to be based on Common Modular Platform. Globally the e-CMP platform cars come with a 50kWH lithium-ion battery pack with a 100 kW electric motor which can provide a range of 350 km. But the company will not keep a big battery pack option as it costs more and pricing is a big factor in India until the EVs batteries are manufactured locally. So the company will keep itself in competitive pricing around 8 lakh rupees. 

If it launches with the said price it will directly compete against Mahindra eKUV100 and Tata eHornbill electric cars.
