The TVS X electric scooter was launched at a major event held at Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, just hours after 6:04 pm IST as India and the world received the exciting news. about the landing of the Chandrayaan-3 Lander module on the moon.

TVS Motor Co has launched its new premium electric scooter and flagship car for Rs 250,000 out of the showroom without considering any subsidies. The electric product, which breaks the boundaries of conventional scooter design, is aimed at Gen Z buyers who in India are ready for ambitious shopping and precious experiences.

The Chennai-based two-wheeler maker has focused on the design, performance, and connectivity aspects of its latest electric product which will go on sale in November 2023. X will debut for the first time. in Bangalore, then it will launch in at least 15 cities end of fiscal year 2024. The all-new TVS X builds on TVS’s form-by-function design approach while maintaining the attractiveness and groundbreaking nature of product attributes. A company official said during the product launch: “The X is a mystery and is not limited to any of the design limitations of conventional scooters or motorcycles on the market.”

The TVS X has a unique styling, without front steps or bulky side panels, a distinct departure from traditional scooter styling.

An aluminum and high-precision cast hybrid front frame protects the battery pack, while an aluminum monocast rear subframe protects the battery pack as well. A low-set, centralized center of gravity and a 50:50 weight balance offer an engaging riding experience through the positioning of the motor and controller behind the battery pack.

The TVS X has a twin-damping setup at the front, while it receives an offset single rear shock for better driving dynamics. The scooter is fitted with 12-inch silica tires that offer low rolling resistance.

The X features an all-LED lighting setup, with 26 individually customizable headlight LEDs. X greets the pilot by playing with its signature theme of lights and sounds.

The e-scooter also has a 10.2-inch TFT all-digital instrument cluster that can be tilted to match its viewing angle. The cluster is an extension of TVS’s X Connect operating system and currently runs the NavPro user interface, which contains maps embedded from Here Maps to provide offline navigation.

The TVS X is powered by a 4.4 kWh battery with a range of up to 140 km with a single pilot. The battery also offers fast charging and can be charged to 50% in 50 minutes. The battery will power the 11kW maximum output motor that drives the rear wheels via a belt to deliver a claimed top speed of 105km/h and a 0-20km/h acceleration time of 2.6 seconds.

The company claims that TVS X has been fully vertically integrated in terms of its electronic and software architecture, with everything developed and designed in-house The company will also produce the TVS X engine itself.

According to Sudarshan Venu, General Manager of TVS Motor Company, “With Reimagine 2030 in mind, our goal is to change the quality of life through ambitious and sustainable products. X is a unique product and our goal is to design a revolutionary electric motorcycle. It is an ambitious goal and also defines TVS’s vision for the future.

“The number of people in India who are ambitious and want an intuitive and enjoyable experience is growing at a rapid rate and X will target these buyers. We are seeing rapid growth in electric vehicle sales and we expect our electric vehicle sales to double to 40% by 2025,” said Sudarshan Venu.

He concluded by saying: “We have big plans not only for the domestic market but also for export with X”, giving clues to TVS’s strategic growth vision for new products and the second tram.
