Toyota Motor Corporation and Suzuki Motor Corporation to launch EVs in India by 2020. The joint statement is given by both the companies and made a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that they will forward with a co-operative structure.

Toyota, Suzuki In Indian Market

In Which Suzuki will make EVs for the Indian market and some will be supplied to Toyota which will support the company technically.

“Such activities encompass the establishment of charging stations, human resources development that includes training for after-service technicians employed throughout sales networks, and systems for the appropriate treatment of end-of-life batteries,” it said.

The statement also said that they are also willing to take a study of activities to spread awareness about the electric vehicles in India.

Toyota, Suzuki To launch EVs In Indian Market By 2020

In the month of February, both the companies had announced that they had explored the business partnership and discussed the topics including the dissemination of vehicle electrification technologies in India.

Suzuki is willing to build a lithium-ion battery plant with its partners in Gujarat. Presently it operates the manufacturing plant which supplies automobiles, particularly to its Indian arm Maruti Suzuki.

Lithium-Ion Batteries, Electric Motors Major Elements Will ALso Be Supplied

The supply of major elements of EVs such as lithium-ion batteries, electric motors will be done as per the agreement statement for the production of EVs.

Both the companies have come forward when the Indian government is looking out for more EVs to run on Indian roads which helps in reaching the targeted goal of an all-electric fleet by 2030.
