Electric vehicles are gaining momentum worldwide. In India also it is developing rapidly and becoming a solution for the vehicular pollution in the country. Many electric vehicles have been already launched in India and many are in line waiting to launch. Here is the list of top electric cars in India which are already launched and some will launch in the coming years. Let us see what are those Top 10 electric cars in India 2020.

Tata Nexon EV

Tata Nexon EV is the most popular electric car with maximum range. It comes with the Tata’s advanced Ziptron Technology. It gives 312 km range and it comes with a 30.2 kWh Ip67 certified battery pack with 8-year warranty. It delivers 245 NM of Torque and can accelerate 0-100 kmph in 9.9 sec.

The car is compatible with ccs 2 fast charger and supports normal 15 A plug point, it charges 0-80% fast charge in 60 minutes and with home charging socket it takes 8 hours. 

The Nexon EV comes in three variants such as XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Luxury. The XM variant priced at Rupees 13,99,000, Xz+ priced at 14,99,000 and XZ+ Luxury is priced at 15,99,000. 

MG ZS EV

The MG ZS EV is from one of the popular manufacturer MG Motors. This electric SUV is also known as internet SUV due to its connectivity features.




It is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous that deliver 143 Hp and a 353 Nm of Torque. The 44.5 kWh li-ion battery can be charged up to 80% in 50 minutes. The car can accelerate 0-100 km in 8.5 seconds with a top speed of 140 km/h. 

The MG ZS EV is available in 5 cities such as Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. The price of the MG ZS EV is Rs. 23.58 lakh. 

Hyundai Kona Electric

The Hyundai Kona electric is having a range of 452 km and it gives a top speed of 167 km/h. It has a 100kW motor which powers a 39.2-kilowatt lithium-ion battery pack. It can be charged with a normal charger in 6 hours and with a DC fast charger it can be charged 80% in 57 minutes.

The Hyundai Kona Electric is priced at Rs. 23.91 lakh.

Mahindra XUV300 EV

The Mahindra (XUV300) EV is going to be the highest range electric SUV from Mahindra. The SUV to be powered by a 40 kWh battery pack, which has a range of more
than 400 km. The launch of XUV300 EV can be expected at the year-end. 

The estimated price of XUV300 EV is 12-15 lakh rupees. 

Tata Altroz EV

Under the ziptron technology , The tata Altroz will be the second electric car after the Nexon EV. The Altroz EV will have a range of 300km on a full charge and it charges up to 80% in just 60 min using the DC fast charger. The company is giving an 8-years of warranty. 




The expected price of Altroz EV is 14 lakhs and is expected to launch in September 2020. 

Strom R3

The Storm R3 is from a Mumbai based Strom Motors which made India’s most affordable electric car. It is a two-seater electric car which is powered by a 15 kW Motor. The kerb weight of this car is 550 kg.

The Strom R3 can run with a top speed of 80 km/h. It works with a 15kW high efficient motor and has a maximum torque of 90 NM. It comes with three range variants such as 120km, 160 km and 200 km. Its motor is powered with a lithium-ion battery pack which has a lifetime of 1 lakh km

The storm R3 is priced at 4 Lakh Rupees. 

Mahindra eKUV 100

The e-KUV 100 is Mahindra’s first electric SUV which can give a maximum range of 350 km range with a 72V Lithium-ion battery. The car can run with a top speed of 186 km/h and works with a 30.5 kW 3-phase AC induction motor. The e-KUV 100 can go 0-100 Kph in just 9 seconds. The car expected price is between 8 -10 lakhs and it is expected to launch in the first half of 2020

Ora R1

The Chinese Great Wall Motors has launched the cheapest electric car, Ora R1. The ORA R1 has a maximum range of 351km and its motor capacity is 35 kW which produces a 125nm torque. Its Battery capacity is 30.7 kWh and gives a top speed of 102 km/h. 

The Ora R1 is Priced from 6 to 9 lakh rupees. 




Kia Soul EV

The Kia Soul EV is one of the best electric cars in India people looking for. It works with a 64kWh lithium-ion battery and can travel 391 km on a single charge. It is powered with an 81.5kW motor which produces a 395 nm of torque and its top speed is 168kmph.

The Soul EV is expected to launch at the end of 2020 with an estimated price of 15-20 Lakh rupees

Nissan Leaf

Nissan Leaf is the best selling electric car in the world. It is expected to launch in India by the first half of 2020. It has a range of 363km and a 150km/h top speed. The Nissan Leaf can charge 80% in just half an hour using a fast charger and it can go with 0-96km/h in 9.9 seconds. The car works with an 80kW motor which is powered by 64kWh li-ion battery.

The Nissan Leaf’s expected price is 30 lakh rupees.
