Three Wheels United partners Piaggio Vehicles to promote electric 3-wheelers in India
The Three Wheels United (TWU) a Bengaluru based tech-enabled financier of light electric vehicles has partnered with Piaggio Vehicles to accelerate the adoption of electric three-wheelers in India. Under this partnership, the TWU will deploy 500 Piaggio Ape’ E-City and Ape’ E-Xtra vehicles across India. The company’s statement said that the Piaggio Ape’ E-City and Ape’ E-Xtra vehicles across India will jointly work to promote the adoption of electric vehicles. TWU will also facilitate three-wheeler passenger vehicle and cargo vehicle drivers to switch to EVs from old vehicles. It will offer the needed support for the maintenance and servicing of the vehicles.
Three Wheels United CEO and co-founder Cedrick Tandong said, “We continue to expand our partnership with large electric vehicle manufacturers in a bid to make it easier for auto rickshaw drivers to switch to sustainable last-mile transportation. I am very excited to associate with Piaggio to drive the adoption of Ape’ E-city and Ape’ E-Xtra.”
Piaggio Vehicles Chairman and MD Diego Graffi said, “Piaggio has been known for its path-breaking solutions in last-mile connectivity. Our recently launched passenger vehicle Ape’ E City and cargo variant Ape’ E-Xtra have received tremendous response from our customers.”
Piaggio launches Ape electric three-wheeler range in Hyderabad
Recently, the Piaggio Vehicles India has made an announcement to launch the Ape electric three-wheeler range in Hyderabad city. The company is offering Ape’s battery-powered range in three variants such as Ape e-City FX, and Ape e-Xtra FX (with fixed electric battery), and Ape e-City (with swappable battery).
Piaggio ONE electric scooter unveiled
Piaggio has unveiled its all-new One electric scooter ahead of its physical world premiere at the 2021 Beijing auto show on 28 May. One electric scooter is the company’s global development project and is mainly targeted at metropolitan cities around the globe. It will go on sale in European markets from the end of June. The interesting fact about One electric scooter is that it is not just a single scooter but a platform. The Piaggio will bring its vehicles in multiple power levels and battery capacities, from mopeds to motorcycles.
