Simple Energy has opened its first plant to start producing Simple One scooters.
Bangalore-based start-up Simple Energy celebrated a big day by opening its first manufacturing facility, Simple Vision 1.0, in Tamil Nadu.
The new factory, covering an area of 1,000 square meters, will be the production base for the company’s new Simple One electric scooter. Simple Energy originally launched its electric scooter in 2021 but has since faced delays due to safety-related issues. The company originally started accepting pre-orders in August 2021, but final production will not begin until this year.
Simple Energy’s CEO tweeted about their big day.

Having the right and experienced talent showed us the right way to develop the best strategy in R&D and set up a fully equipped factory to start production of the Simple One electric.
The brand-new Simple Vision 1.0 facility will be built with an initial investment of Rs 100 crores. The plant will employ more than 700 people, including general assembly lines, electric motor manufacturing, battery manufacturing, and an in-house vehicle testing facility.
