The best exciting news for EV users is here: Fast charging stations installed by BPCL

On the Delhi-Jalandhar National Highway, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited is launching EV Fast Charging High Corridors.

With the launch of the electric vehicle Fast Charging Corridor on the Delhi-Jalandhar National Highway, BPCL, a ‘Maharatna’ and a Fortune Global 500 company, has announced a series of initiatives intended to address range anxiety among electric vehicle owners. The fast charging stations will be located at 12 BPCL retail outlets strategically located along the highway (part of NH-44) as part of BPCL’s initiative.

It aims to address the range of concerns of electric vehicle users on highways.

This 750km stretch of NH-44 is the fourth such highway in the country where BPCL has installed fast charging stations at a distance of about 100 km on both sides of the highway.

Earlier there were three EV fast-charging corridors:

Chennai-Trichy-Madurai, Chennai-Bangalore, and Bangalore-Coorg. Additionally, Bharat Petroleum plans to complete 200 national highways in India with end-to-end EV fast charging stations by March 31, 2023, to facilitate EV adoption in India.

Installing a 30kW fast charger at the BPCL station will allow customers to charge their EVs in about 30 minutes and reach a range of up to 125km.

The fast charger can be operated independently without manual assistance, although support staff will be on hand if needed.

These fast EV charging facilities at BPCL stations will provide commuters with safer, better lighting and safe spaces and facilities such as restrooms and restaurants where they can rest while charging.

BPCL also announced a partnership with British car brand MG Motors, which has sold 8,900 electric vehicles.

The partnership will allow all his MG customers to find his BPCL EV charging while driving via their car dashboard. On the occasion, Shubhankar Sen, Head of Retail Initiatives and Brands at BPCL, said the establishment of the Electric Vehicle Charging Network Highway will contribute to the growth of EVs in India and address EV owners’ range concerns.

A network of EV fast-charging corridors will accelerate the adoption of EVs in the country. The initiative with MG Motors India will provide an enhanced experience for MG Motors EV customers.
