2025 marks the global debut of the Maruti Suzuki eVX electric

Suzuki has started demonstration tests of the first fully electric vehicle in Europe. There has been a sighting in Poland of a camouflaged electric SUV based on the Suzuki eVX concept that was announced at Auto Expo 2023. The test mule gave a glimpse of some of the features incorporated into the production model. This is slated to hit various global markets, including India, in 2025.

In contrast to the strikingly stylish eVX concept unveiled at Auto Expo, the production version of the upcoming electric SUV that AutoGaleria has spotted looks more understated. The test mule silhouette seen on the road shows this. The concept car’s sharp, bold creases have been softened, creating smoother curves in the bonnet and fenders.

There is a thick chrome bar on top of the instrument panel of the production car, which is based on the Suzuki eVX concept car. This is likely to have a closed grille design. This plate extends to the side of the large headlight housing, which in our test vehicle is fitted with a regular projector headlight. However, in line with industry trends, production models will have full LED lighting at launch.

Suzuki’s electric SUV test mule was fitted with traditional 17-inch silver alloy wheels, which will likely be replaced with more stylish mechanical alloy wheels in production. Square wheel arches provide plenty of room for alloy wheels. In addition, the SUV is equipped with rearview mirrors similar to the Baleno. These mirrors have built-in cameras to support the 360-degree camera system installed in the vehicle.

Identical to concept

Another notable thing about this electric SUV from Suzuki is that, like the current Maruti Suzuki Swift, the rear door handles are integrated into the C-pillar. The front and rear fenders have a slightly flared design that contributes to its powerful appearance. The vehicle interior was completely camouflaged, but it was impossible to observe it closely.

The standard Suzuki eVX model will be based on an all-new dedicated electric platform and will be powered by a 60kWh battery pack, which is expected to have a range of around 500-520km. This vehicle is 4.3 meters long, 1.8 meters wide, and 1.6 meters high. After being launched in the Indian market under the Maruti Suzuki brand identity, it will compete with upcoming electric SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV, and the standard Tata Curvv Electric.
